The United Nations Environment Programme working with the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis aims to research the impact of green monkeys, on agriculture, biodiversity, households and tourism. They are being backed by the Global Environment Facility in order to create a sustainable plant to manage the green monkey population.
The green monkeys which estimate to be in the 60,000 plus ratio, are part of the experience when visiting St. Kitts and Nevis. The project titled ‘Preventing COSTS of Invasive Alien Species in Barbados and the OECS Countries’ will be replicated in Barbados and other islands.
