Rhinocerus Iguana Cyclura cornuta -Join the experts from The Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources, Island Conservation and the Ornithological Society of Hispaniola as they speak about the removal of invasive species from Islas Cabritos in the Dominican Republic via a webinar hosted by CABI. The webinar will include a presentation by Mr. Carlos Rijo, who will speak about his Ministry’s involvement in the project, the endemic species found on Islas Cabritos and some options to consider when planning eradications of invasive vertebrates. Mr. Wes Jolley from Island Conservation would focus on the Cabritos project.  Ricord’s Iguana Cyclura ricordiiHe will give a brief overview of the project and the results, then spend time presenting the lessons learned over the course of the project.  The lessons learned are tied to the general best practices that must be followed in any eradication project. Mr. Jorge Brocca from the Ornithological Society of Hispaniola will speak about the work his organization is doing and the partnership between his organization and the other stakeholders working in Isla Cabritos.
