Objective:
To provide participants with an overview of phytosanitary principles to better enable their countries to safeguard against invasive species from a regulatory standpoint, while competing in the international marketplace. The meeting provides a forum for establishing a much needed technical advisory group comprised of the CARICOM Chief Plant Health Directors.
This group will make recommendations to the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED – CARICOM Agriculture, Trade and related Ministers) for consideration as CARICOM Community Policy, Programs and Projects on Plant Health.
