One of the key strategies to safeguard against damages caused by Invasive Alien Species (IAS) is the empowerment of all stakeholders to act in a responsible manner conducive to the prevention of entry of new invasive species, and the control and management of existing invasive species. The presence of national, regional or international policies and agreements, legal instruments, institutional frameworks and action plans can have only minimum impact if they are not supported by a community that understands and as a result responds positively to regulations pertaining to a proposed invasive species management and control. This documents outlines a plan for sensitizing the general public on the impact of IAS in Saint Lucia and how citizens need to change their behaviour to protect the environment and livelihoods in Saint Lucia from the impacts of IAS.
