UNEP published a news article on the project “Preventing COSTS of Invasive Alien Species in Barbados and the OECS Countries project” titled “Caribbean wrestles with mischievous invaders: monkeys“
The article looked at the research being done on the impact of green monkeys on biodiversity, agriculture, tourism, and households in St. Kitts and Nevis.
The Green Monkey is also a significant agricultural pest in Barbados. Thus, the sustainable management plan that will be developed in St. Kitts and Nevis will also be replicated in Barbados and other islands.
