It&nbsp;aims to engage not only nature conservation agencies but also all sectoral agencies with&nbsp;responsibility for activities relevant to IAS prevention or management. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The strategy also&nbsp;recognizes the range of stakeholders involved in the movement and use of alien species (industry&nbsp;and trade, transporters, retailers, resource managers, the public) and the contribution that&nbsp;competent non-governmental organizations (NGOs) can make to prevention, detection and&nbsp;mitigation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Strategy promotes the development and implementation of coordinated measures and cooperative efforts throughout the region to minimize adverse impacts of invasive alien species&nbsp;(IAS) on Trinidad and Tobago\u201fs biodiversity, economy and human health and wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read more:&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/caribbeaninvasives.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Draft-TT-NatInvasiveSpeciesStrategy.pdf\">Draft T&amp;T National Invasive Species Strategy<\/a>&nbsp;(PDF)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This Strategy is primarily targeted at government agencies as well as private stakeholders.
