The UNEP Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (ROLAC), located in Panama City, works closely with the 33 countries of the region and its activities are integrated into the Medium Term Strategy and the Programme of Work approved by the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA).&nbsp;<br><br>The project to \u201cStrengthen the Caribbean Biological Corridor (CBC)\u201d is framed within the \u201cEnvironmental governance\u201d sub-programme. It seeks to build a strong and sustained collective, institutionalized regional approach to the conservation, management and governance of terrestrial and marine biodiversity in the Caribbean Islands hotspot, focusing initially on Cuba, Haiti and the Dominican Republic, with a progressive and well-structured expansion to other countries and territories.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UNEP seeks to hire a consultant to review potential Institutional and legal arrangements for the CBC\u2019s Secretariat and the CBC Initiative in the current context, in consultation with the CBC Secretariat, governments of member countries as well as with relevant stakeholders that may contribute to the future operation of the CBC.<br><br>The consultant will be under direct supervision of the responsible Programme Officer of the project \u201cStrengthening of the Caribbean Biological Corridor\u201d at the UN Environment Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean.
