The activities of all age groups impact on Invasive Species. Kids are a major target of the pet trade. It is not unheard of to have them travelling with their pets unknowing to their parents posing a serious bio-security risk to countries visited. They also are tempted to release their pets when they outgrow their cages and aquaria or become too expensive to maintain. To prevent this potentially negative impact on the environment and to engender greater care and concern in the young for the natural environment is the focus of this section. Here kids will learn about native Caribbean species and what threats they face from introduced species that are invasive. Hopefully the information they clean from this section will assist them in understanding their role in preventing the introduction and spread of invasive species in the Caribbean.
